06 / Writing & voice

Composed, not loud.

We write as a community speaking with people, not an institution speaking at an audience. Information stays easy to scan; narrative must never hide times, venues or links.

Approved Principles and examples come from docs/PRD COPYWRTING.MD §4 in the website repository.

Principles

Seven voice principles.

  1. Human before institutional

Speak with people, not down to them.

  2. Poetic, never vague

A metaphor must clarify, not replace information.

  3. Rhythmic, never forced

    Sound must never override meaning.

  4. Warm, never sentimental by default

Let specific details carry the emotion.

  5. Proud, never boastful

    Celebrate achievements without claiming superiority.

  6. Informative, never bureaucratic

Times, venues, deadlines and links are written plainly.

  7. Agency before pressure

Members decide for themselves what is relevant.
